WHO Nepal Statement on Rasuwa Floods

WHO stands in solidarity with the families and communities affected by the devastating floods that struck Rasuwa and neighbouring districts today.

While the full extent of the damage is still being assessed, WHO is working closely with Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Food Safety and partners to identify urgent health needs and support response efforts.

As part of the immediate response, WHO has mobilized and dispatched essential emergency medical supplies, including medicines and multipurpose tents, to help sustain the delivery of critical health services and provide field-level care to affected communities. WHO remains committed to supporting the Government of Nepal’s response and recovery efforts.

This includes monitoring public health risks, strengthening disease surveillance, and helping to ensure continued access to essential health services for affected communities.
